To say it’s been a challenging month here in the MamaTeaches’ household is an understatement. This last week was especially challenging with a nasty cold that we’ve been sharing with one another. We just can’t seem to shake it! And then I found a lump and had a mammogram and found out the lump I’d felt was not a lump (huh??), but I did in fact have a lump…on the other side. Go figure. Since I’m the kind of person who
immediately Googles and reads every article on WebMD convincing myself I’m going to die in the next few weeks tries not to worry (albeit unsuccessfully), the impact of this #ThroughMyChildsEyes Challenge really hit home.
There is no time to waste, my friends. NONE. Don’t wait until tomorrow to take a picture with your child. Don’t wait until your hair is perfect or your skinny jeans fit. NOW is the time to step out and step into those pictures with your family. None of us knows when we’ll be called home and while I certainly pray that we all live long, healthy lives, we have no way of knowing when our final breath will come. Make those memories now. Take those pictures now. It’s important.
It’s so important.
I go for a biopsy tomorrow and while I have faith that all will be well, I can’t help but see the irony in having started this challenge during this time. So, right now, grab your camera, grab your phone, and snap a picture of yourself with your kids. Do it. Life is too fleeting not to.
