Nevada is Known as the Silver State

Early settlers were attracted to Nevada because of all the silver found in the land, which is how Nevada got its nickname of the Silver State. 

While this name does hold true, Nevada also has many other underground treasures, as well. 

In addition to silver, other gems and minerals such as copper, black opal, and even gold are found in Nevada. 

In fact, most of the gold mined in the US comes from the state of Nevada.

Hidden Cave in Nevada is one of the most fascinating underground caverns in America. 

Discovered in the 1920’s by accident, this historical cave is an archaeologist’s dream. 

Filled with thousands of artifacts, like ancient tools, accessories, and weapons, Hidden Cave unlocks many mysteries of life from long ago, and it is a must-see spot for residents and tourists alike.

Nevada has the Largest Alpine Lake in North America

Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America.

Well, an alpine lake is a lake that sits at a high altitude (about 10,000 feet above sea level or more). 

Alpine lakes are typically clearer, colder, and surrounded by trees! 

Lake Tahoe is also the second deepest lake in the US at a depth of 1644 feet.

Nevada has the Tallest Free-Standing Observation Tower in the US

The Stratosphere Tower in Nevada is not only the tallest, free-standing observation tower in the US, but it is also the tallest building in the state! 

Standing at 1,149 feet, the Stratosphere Tower has a lot going on. 

It is a hotel, a casino, and an observation deck. 

The Stratosphere Tower also has a mall, a restaurant, an art gallery, and a few thrill rides for even more fun.
