Practicing gratitude is a wonderful exercise that kids (and adults) of all ages should get in the habit of doing.

Gratitude is all about being thankful for what is good in life.

It is taking a moment to see and appreciate all of the things that are most often taken for granted.

Things such as having a home, food on the table, friends, family, and more are all worthy of acknowledgment.

While you may feel that this concept may be a challenge to teach to young children, we have an incredible heart gratitude journal available to make it a little easier.

When you teach children to be thankful for what they have, they see things in a new light. And that’s good for everyone!

Encourage children to get in the habit of expressing appreciation with our lovely heart gratitude journal.

It will promote positive thinking and get young minds to focus on all of the good that surrounds them every day.

This, in turn, will lead little ones to a happier and healthier living experience.

Let’s take a closer look at this amazing heart gratitude journal for kids.

Using our Heart Gratitude Journal

Every day is an opportunity to be grateful. To express appreciation using our heart gratitude journal, little ones just need to write down one thing that they are grateful for in one of the hearts.

This could look like something that they love, such as a favorite book.  It could be a person who they appreciate, such as a mom, dad, or even a teacher.

Really there are no rules.

Anyone or anything that your child is thankful to have can be written down.

Once, there is a blessing written in the heart, encourage children to meditate on what they wrote down.

Some questions to prompt positive meditative thoughts include:

  • Why is this something or someone you are thankful for?
  • What is it about this one thing or person that makes you happy?
  • Do you think anyone else you know also appreciates the same thing?
  • How does knowing this is in your life make you feel?

Each day, your children can write down a blessing and then reflect on it.

You might need to remind them or give them prompts as they begin a new routine with this heart gratitude journal.

Also, keep in mind that they may want to share with you what they are thinking, and they may not.

And that’s okay.

The important thing is to try to encourage young minds to focus on the good things in their life, no matter how big or how small.
